Whats going down
Hey everyone,
So much has happened over the past couple of weeks. It has been an extremely busy month really. The water project was a hit and we raise roughly $4,000!! Super wicked! Thank you so much to Tito's, Triton Plumbing and Heating, Faber Accounting, Aquatera, and all the other sponsors, artist, and entertainers who contributed to the night. I was extremely sick that night, but still had an incredible time and really was overwhelmed by the support and love from the community. Grande Prairie is really a place to be proud of! I also want to thank my mom, Elaine, my sister Alicia, and my friends Laura Hawthorne and Nicola Grant, who were such huge helps to make the event as great as it was! You guys rock!!
I also had the privilege to be a part of Alberta Art Days. The event kicked off Friday, Sept 30. One of my pieces was on display at the event! Pretty amazing. I also was able to participate in a kick off party at Tito's, where there were more local talent and myself there to show off our creative talents. Thank you to Tymmarah Zehr, Tito's, and everyone at the Creative Arts Centre for helping me be a part of this great event.
I feel truly blessed. I have amazing family and friends who have shown so much love and support while I have attempted to put myself and my art work out there. I don't know if I ever would have been able to do it without you guys. You have given me so much strength and I love you all so much! Thank you.
Everything will be down at Tito's soon, so if there is a piece you are interested in, please let me know. As well, if you saw anything you really loved and would like a commissioned piece done for yourself, again get a hold of me. I would be honored.

So all my new stuff is now officially up at Tito's Bistro & Cafe, downtown Grande Prairie. It will be up for the month of September. I have really evolved since my last showcase there, and so you don't want to miss out. Let me know if anything catches your eye or even if you have any feedback!
Just a reminder too about September 24th's Water Project. Contact me for tickets. Tickets are going fast, so make sure you get yours soon!

Update
Hey everyone!
My water project is really coming together! This community is so amazing and full of people who not only are up for a cool art night, but also think of other people even if they are across the world! It is overwhelming to me and I am so thankful for all the love and support I am getting from everyone. What started out as this little idea to help build a bit more awareness of one my little passions, has turned into this incredible and fun night for the community. I am proud to say I am from Grande Prairie.
We are still looking for a few more sponsors and donors. If you are able to help, send me an email at megolson81@gmail.com and I can send you the sponsor/donor package.
I am also excited about the upcoming 6th annual ladies golf tournament for The Rainbow Society. I was able to donate a piece I painted to the events silent auction. The rainbow society grants wishes to sick kids...a super awesome organization!! I hope it raises some money for them!

MY Water Project
Hey everyone,
So I am going to be hosting a fundraising event for The Water Project, a non-profit organization that drills water wells in Africa. I am hoping that through a love of the arts, I can build awareness in my commuity of Grande Prairie, as well as raise $6,500 to drill at one complete water well in Kenya. It will provide clean, safe drinking water for up to 500 people. What an amazing gift we can give! NOTHING CAN LIVE WITHOUT WATER and right now 1 in 8 people world wide do not have access to safe drinking water.
The event will be held at Tito's Bistro & Cafe, September 24 from 6-9pm. My art will be showcased again there for the month of September, so that night I will be donating 50% of all my sales to the water project. There will also be a silent auction full of amazing donations, 50/50, balloon pop games, live entertainment, and food with wine. Tickets are $20. The facebook link is:

So I am going to be showcased again at Tito's Bistro and Cafe!! I am so excited! Tito's is this great cafe that features local artists, musicians, photograhers, ect. They serve great meditrranean food and have open mic nights as well. Its a pretty cool place! So make sure you come and check me out for the month of September! Check them out on facebook too!

The Horn of Africa is experiencing the worst drought in 60 years! So I spoke with Mazen, the owner of Tito's, and collaberatively we are are going to host this event in September...date to come. I am now looking for any artists, photographers, and business's who would like to help out and donate an item for the silent auction, sponsor the event, or just make a personal donation. It costs roughly $4,500-$6,500 to drill water well that would provide safe water to 200-500 people. Please email me at megolson81@gmail.com if you would love to help! There will be local entertainment, silent auction, local artists and photographers, and good food!
